Taste and Pattern: Bashkir National Cuisine Cooking Workshop

The Manty Workshop takes place as part of the Tallinn National Cultures Days and is organized by the Youth Chamber of the Association of Nationalities of Estonia, by young people for young people and everyone interested.

Manty is one of the most well-known and beloved dishes of Bashkir cuisine. These steamed dumplings with filling have been a part of family gatherings and festive occasions for centuries across the cuisines of the peoples of Central Asia and the Volga region.

Our approach is simple: we are not professional chefs, but young people sharing what we know and love. In this workshop, you will learn how to prepare manty from start to finish, from kneading the dough to making the filling and shaping the dumplings. In addition to the recipe, the instructor will share the story of the dish, where it comes from, how it is traditionally prepared, and what it means within Bashkir culture.

The workshop is open to everyone. No previous experience or special skills are required. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with a focus on creating together and learning from one another.

At the end of the workshop, we will enjoy the freshly prepared dish together, and you will also be able to take some home with you.
