Armenian State Dance Ensemble “Barekamutyun”

One of Armenia’s most beloved and acclaimed dance ensembles will perform on a Tallinn stage for the first time.

“Barekamutyun” (Armenian for “friendship”) was founded in 1987 on the initiative of the legendary choreographer Norayr Meghrabyan and has since become one of Armenia’s most distinguished cultural ambassadors around the world.

From its very first years, the ensemble has captivated audiences with its unique and diverse repertoire, bringing together Armenian classical folk dance, contemporary choreography, and a live orchestra in one compelling performance.

More than 30 dancers will take the stage, bringing centuries-old Armenian folk dances and dance compositions inspired by the cultures of different peoples to life.

The performances are based on the works of Komitas, Aram Khachaturian, Sayat-Nova, and Arno Babajanyan, music that carries the spirit and history of an entire nation.

The ensemble has performed around the world and has consistently won the hearts of audiences with its passionate, precise, and emotionally rich performances.

This evening is a meeting of colours, rhythms, and the legends of the Caucasus Mountains in the heart of Tallinn.
