Opening of an exhibition “New Home, New Style: Nigerian Fashion, Adaptation and Identity in Estonia“
For many Nigerians living in Estonia, traditional clothing is much more than just fabric.
It tells stories of family, community, celebrations, cultural heritage and home.
The exhibition explores how Nigerian clothing culture is preserved, adapted and reinterpreted in Estonia.
The exhibition is curated by Uwanma Odefa, a member of the Nigerian community living in Tallinn, who has brought together garments and accessories from several different ethnic groups for the exhibition.
The exhibition will remain open at the Tallinn People’s Museum, located at Pikk 29a, until 24 January 2027.
